STUDENT DIVER PROGRAM
The Traveler EMS “Student Diver Program” offers dive instructors the opportunity to provide entry-level divers with dive accident protection for the duration of their entry-level training.

This program offers protection for the cost of recompression treatments should the student suffer from decompression illness during training. This benefit limit is US$20,000 and there is no cost to either the student diver or the instructors who teach them.

To be eligible to enroll students into the Student Diver Program, instructors must be registered with Traveler EMS. There is no cost for registration and you do not need to be a client of Traveler EMS to participate in this program. Simply click here to register.

Students who are enrolled in this program have no obligation to become a client of Traveler EMS. However, Traveler EMS will contact the students following the completion of their entry-level training to determine if they wish to participate in one of the Traveler EMS programs.

The Student Diver Program is open to any entry-level diver and any certified instructor teaching in an eligible country. Students under 18 need consent from a parent or guardian to enroll.

Enrollment is effective as soon as a client ID number is assigned (usually within 24 hours) and lasts through the end of the final dive needed for certification, or six months, whichever comes sooner. Both the student and instructor will receive via email a confirmation of registration and the student’s client ID number. Enrollment is only available to instructors and students who have an active and valid e-mail address.

Why use the Student Diver Program?
The Traveler EMS Student Diver Program is FREE and available to all entry-level divers being trained by qualified instructors in an eligible country.

It is comparable with DAN’s program in the US and Canada, so if you teach classes which include residents from various countries, all of your students can have the same protection. Traveler EMS is able to offer instructors the same protection they previously received from the DAN program. The biggest difference from the DAN program is the elimination of the reward points. Instructors who use the Student Diver Program will be automatically enrolled in the Traveler EMS affiliate program and will earn the rewards available through that program.

The program protects both the instructor and the student diver, and provides an increased level of risk management during training. If a student is injured, everyone will benefit if the instructor has enrolled all of his/her students in the Student Diver Program.

Benefit to Instructors
Should one of your students suffer from decompression illness while enrolled in the Student Diver Program, Traveler EMS will pay the expenses of treatment (up to US$20,000). This is a valuable risk management tool which reduces potential personal and/or professional liability.

Instructors are eligible to participate in the Traveler EMS affiliate program. Under this program, Instructors can earn free enrollments by promoting Traveler EMS and enrolling clients in one of the Traveler EMS programs.

Why must I Register with Traveler EMS?
Two reasons: First, the underwriters need to know who is responsible for enrolling the student in the program. Second, this information allows Traveler EMS to track this student and identify him as your student. As long as he completes the training and does not enroll in another entry-level training course, you will get credit for the referral if the student enrolls in a Traveler EMS program within a year of that student’s effective date in the Student Diver Program. Simply click here to register.
